Beneath its longing lies a simple prayer: that the person who comes after you will love them at least a little like you did.
There will be a thousand people,
Who will fall for you
You’re beautiful enough
But who would float for you
Falling and floating at the same time
Defying gravity, refusing to lose.
To witness you, the way you are
The way you live and reflect life
Through the child in you
That dances, stumbles, cherishes
Who would fall for your clumsiness
Your anger, your ghosting
But if I still don’t deserve
I must not demand
But I wish,
If past lives are true
And if you made any sins
May God forgive you
For every lifetime
And allow you to be you.
Because you are yourself
That feeling – most beautiful
And whoever finds you
Gets to live you, he loves at least
A bit like I do.
May his eyes admire and
Respect you the way I do.
May he pause his life just
To see you as you fall asleep
And as you open your eyes.
May he offer you a bigger bite
Of the food you like.
Changing the least.
May he make you more like you
May he love you, at least a bit
Like I love you.
