Why Puma, Reebok and Adidas? Why not Paragon, Relaxo and Lakhani?
The question is simple. It’s not for you or me, but for all of us. Especially for those who believe brands are something related to class and social image.
So here’s the question – Why Puma, Reebok and Adidas? Why not Paragon, Relaxo and Lakhani?
You must have got the point. We’re dealing another bending of our mentality which is often ignored because it includes questioning ourselves and not someone else.
The more elaborated question would be why do we prefer pricey brands instead of the one that costs lesser and are made in our own country? Even if at some point of time when we can’t afford it, yet we go crazy about these brands. Isn’t it? But why? What’s so special in these branded stuffs? Why aren’t we that crazy about products of other brands like Relaxo, Lakhani, Paragon and many more that belongs to our own country?

Well before buying an apparel, quality must be the main focus I believe. So, is it the quality where these pricey brands take over the other ones?
Some might say yes, but most of us know that it’s not. I myself used to be crazy about these brands when I used to be in college and was all fed by my father. But with the curls of time and path of life, things became different to my eyes. Now just a good stuff, of good quality, of a good brand (not the hyped ones) and reasonable price serves pretty well to my skin and my heart. The mind does dwindle sometimes towards those flaunting brands that people love to have, but again a simple question and a little bit of acceptance bring it back to it’s roots.
Another personal experience of mine and also of my friends tell that many a times, branded stuffs lasts lesser than the one bought from local markets. In my shoe rack I have 3 pairs of running shoes, out of which one belongs to one of those freaky brands, and other two to the normal ones. I wear the pricey branded one lesser often than the other two, yet the branded one is stripping off like hell while the others are still completely fine.
Well, some might say that I might have got a duplicate piece, but hey, here’s the ultimate question : do you really agree that you buy branded stuffs because of their quality? Or is it to leave an impression and an image in front of others?

It’s better if we ask the same question to ourselves rather than someone else pointing at us, because in that case the chances of landing on a wrong answer is much more higher.
I know many would say that it’s our choice and freedom that we can buy or wear anything that we like, but the reality is it’s not your choice and not at all your freedom that makes you see these brands as class, rather it’s an imprisonment of your mind that makes a fool out of you. I know the stubbornness inside would still be trying to win, but I guess sometimes you have to defeat yourself, especially when you’re wrong and that’s winning.
I understand that we have our wishes to look good in the society, but that doesn’t mean we bind this good looking thing so deep into us that it becomes an unreachable and unsolvable problem. Because of this simple mentality turned wildly wrong, students and youngsters believe if they don’t have branded apparels, then they won’t be able to match their friends circle. Even there has been cases where youngsters have committed suicides because of the same feeling.
I know there are hundreds of topics that might seem really important to talk about, but the truth is none of these situations that we have given fanciers names to will ever be solved if we don’t ask questions to ourselves.

The very phone we hold, the technology it has, the money that we are blessed with, holds tremendous power to let someone reach the potential that he/she deserves. All it asks you is a little help, to be wise enough while making your choices in day to day lives. And all it takes to understand that, is to imagine yourself in their shoes and see what would you want from the society in such a scenario.
A single wise decision a day can make a huge impact in someone else’s life.
P.S – This matter might look small, but again that’s only because we don’t prioritize it. The expectations of the change is least, because I believe the time when it was just a stigma or a mentality has long gone. The same stigma is all that lives now with no administrator above it.

I told u this when we first met, didn’t I ? 😝
Yeah I remember 😋😋😋
