“A Seed Sown” is a reflective existential and spiritual poem by Dhrutikanta Sahoo, exploring the journey of surrender, ego death, and becoming one with the universe. The poem captures the inner transformation of the self — melting, letting go, and awakening to cosmic consciousness.

A heart melting,

But melting away

From all it has known.

But for the first time it sees,

The corners of itself,

For long that were kept unknown.

But no reward comes easy,

The being has to give up all,

All that he owned.

Even his name, his identity,

The few people he loved,

And to whom he belonged.

It’s not easy, not at all,

As the promises, the faith,

All you knew about as you,

All will be gone.

The fear of forever loneliness,

Makes your inside mourn.

Nothing of you will be you,

Nobody yours will remain yours,

It’s either the truth, or the lie,

You must choose one,

Being stubborn.

Once you’re done

With all that you were, and dreamt of.

Your mind and eyes will slowly turn on.

You will hear the wind and voice of your soul,

To know, that

You’re the universe

A seed that has been sown.
